Slow flow yoga - the key to improved wellbeing

Slow flow yoga is a gentle practice which combines deep breathing, stretching and relaxed postures to bring restorative energy and serenity to your body and mind. It incorporates traditional yoga poses that often are held for longer durations.

Slow workouts are just as important as fast ones. Moving through postures at a slower pace makes it an extremely relaxing, restorative yet energising experience. Slow flow activates our parasympathetic nervous system (our rest and digest state) which helps to reduce stress, promote healing and repair in the body and quieten down the mind. Slowing down can also improve your yoga technique as you become more aware of your body, form and posture.

Meet your instructor Emma Dabell

I'm is based in South London and offer a variety of in-person and on-line classes. Whether you need to tone your body or relieve aches and pains, slow flow yoga offers something for everyone. I found yoga 15 years ago, it had such a profound affect on my life, I decided to train to become a qualified yoga instructor to share the beauty and benefits of this practise. My intention is to help my students listen to their inner selves, find the courage to step out of their comfort zone and become the best version of themselves on and off the mat. Yoga is more than movement, it’s a way to create strength, flexibility, resilience, balance and peace in your life. I hope that my students will experience the same joy that this slow flow yoga practice gives to me.

Get in touch with me if you’re new to yoga or want to find out more.

Who it is for

Slow flow yoga is an accessible gentle practise making it perfect for beginners, those looking to unwind, people recovering from injury or illness or those navigating the menopause . It is also an extremely valuable addition for advanced and seasoned yogis to add to their practise. Taking the time to slow down can reveal a lot, physically, mentally and emotionally. The practise gives you the chance to feel every niggle, deeply held muscle tension, unhelpful thought patterns and unfelt emotions, all which all lead to improved health and wellbeing.
